0:00 hi everyone it's hii from Flutterby H.W 0:03 wordpress.com back again here with 0:05 another frero Friday project and this 0:07 time it's my version of the envelope 0:10 punchboard Diamond gift box which I've 0:12 seen round about lots of times but I've 0:14 always felt it's a little bit awkward to 0:17 get things in and out of so what I've 0:19 done is I've done my version so that you 0:21 can open it on the top there with a just 0:24 a a simple hinge lid and of course being 0:27 Friday it fits for forever you might 0:31 yeah I don't think You' quite get a 0:32 fifth one in there um or lindel or 0:34 raphaela or any other chocolates that 0:36 you or a nice little gift maybe a scarf 0:38 might just about fit in there that's a 0:40 silk one as I say there you go four 0:42 Ferrero fit in there nicely and then 0:46 that just ties with a bit of ribbon and 0:48 I am using some of the beautiful new 0:51 falling in love uh designer series paper 0:54 which um is a mixture of so very vanilla 0:56 and Sahara Sand and um coordinates with 1:00 the lovely soft Sky which I've got here 1:02 it also coordinates with Blushing Bride 1:05 so what you need um to um make the 1:09 project today is two pieces of 5x5 card 1:13 stock I've then cut a further piece 1:17 using the largest of the stitched um 1:22 framelets uh are which where you've got 1:25 circles over obviously if you haven't 1:26 got the stitched ones then you could 1:28 just cut yourself um a square as well 1:30 but you would I do find that although 1:33 normally I just cut squares if you're 1:34 going to make apertures you I find 1:36 framelits are inv valuable so use the 1:39 largest one for um for for for that and 1:42 you'll need the next size down as well 1:43 in a moment and then just cut the pieces 1:46 of of very vanilla and some more of the 1:48 DSP so to make the box then um you'll 1:51 need your envelope punch board and 1:53 you'll also need your trimmer as well um 1:56 and it's very simple so it's 5 in x 5 5 2:00 in so it's a square so you could make 2:02 this using um I would actually go for 7 2:05 by 7 cm just to make it easier to get 2:08 the Middle Point um and then I'm going 2:10 to punch and score at 2 and a half or if 2:12 I was doing it in centimeters I would 2:14 punch and score at 3.5 CM so um sorry 2:20 I'd make it I'd punch and score at 7 cm 2:22 so I'd make it 14 cm so I'm doing it in 2:25 inches 5 by five 2 and 1 half by um 2:29 punch and then score and then you're 2:31 going to repeat that on all four sides 2:33 so just line up and score on each one uh 2:37 and obviously you can either Follow The 2:38 Line Round hopefully you can see that 2:40 but when you're doing a square 2:43 um obviously you you you can just line 2:46 it up on uh on the four sides so do the 2:49 same on your second 2:58 piece 3:03 okay and then you can pop your envelope 3:04 punch board away for the moment till you 3:08 make your next one and next you're going 3:10 to need your um trimmer um I will work 3:15 out the measurements totally in 3:16 centimeters for you um because I'll 3:19 double check the measurements here but 3:20 if you're going to work in inches you're 3:22 going to score on all four sides on one 3:25 piece at 38 of an inch so you'll see 3:28 that's just coming 3:30 to the edge of of that 3:33 punch like 3:35 so so you do that on one piece and on 3:39 the other piece now that you've got your 3:41 diagonals you're actually going to 3:45 trim those pieces 3:48 off now you could leave them on um and 3:52 then join the tabs together um but I 3:55 find that when you do that it's makes it 3:57 quite bulky and can make it a little bit 3:59 awkward um to do so I found that this 4:02 method worked best for 4:05 me so having trimmed those you've now 4:09 got two pieces of card stock one with 4:12 tabs on one without so if you take your 4:15 bone folder and just 4:18 reinforce the score lines on all of 4:28 those 4:32 that includes these side ones as well 4:34 I'm going to do a little bit of trimming 4:36 in a moment just to neaten up those 4:37 corners and make it easy for us to 4:46 fold okay so on each corner just take 4:49 your scissors and cut diagonally across 4:53 on each of the four 4:58 corners okay 5:01 like 5:02 so so this is going to be the base of 5:05 our box as you can see here okay and the 5:09 and the top is going to is the one 5:10 that's going to be trimmed so what 5:12 you're going to do is you're going to 5:15 die cut using the smaller of the square 5:19 so just pop it in the center there and 5:21 pop it through your uh Big Shot um as 5:24 said mine is a is a larger one so it is 5:26 off to one side here so so apologies for 5:30 the 5:31 rattling while I do 5:34 this but all you need to do is just 5:36 literally line that up and being a 5:38 square it is nice and straightforward to 5:46 do and keep your D cut out of the middle 5:51 because that's going to be used to line 5:53 your lid you'll see here 5:57 okay so that's your um now you're going 6:00 to be your lid use the larger one to die 6:04 cut here and you just need to score down 6:08 the edge there to make the flap and I 6:10 literally just scored at half an 6:14 inch that's to make the 6:17 hinge 6:19 okay and as 6:21 always creasing the 6:24 direction of your uh score line first 6:27 before bringing it back on itself 6:30 okay so those are the pieces that you 6:32 should have now in order to make the 6:36 um 6:37 um lose my words in order to make the 6:40 slot for the ribbon I'm just using a 6:42 standard craft knife and um all I'm 6:46 doing is just using my grid paper here 6:49 uh just to line it up and just 6:51 cut just 6:55 about a slot and it's going to be 6:58 covered up by your card so don't don't 7:01 worry too much if it's not quite 7:02 straight um and if you want to you can 7:05 come in from the reverse and just make 7:08 this a little bit bigger as well so 7:10 that's the slot you're going to make on 7:11 your lid and then you're 7:14 also going to make one in the front of 7:18 this triangular panel here so again I'm 7:21 just going to line that 7:23 up so it's I can see roughly where the 7:26 middle is I'm using this line 7:28 here 7:30 and again just cut a slit in there like 7:34 so then I'm going to use um just a strip 7:38 of ribbon and I'm actually going to use 7:40 some of the um the red tape which um 7:43 unfortunately stamping up doesn't do 7:45 anymore um but it is um readily 7:48 available from from your s of craft 7:55 supplies so just take a um take your 7:58 card and on the reverse you do this 8:01 before you make the Box up just pop a 8:05 strip of tape down below and do the 8:10 same on the 8:21 lid to the 8:24 [Music] 8:28 center okay now I have misplaced my 8:33 ribbon so in which case we use some of 8:39 the one with the silver in so this isn't 8:42 this is another ribbon that uh stampin 8:44 Up are doing at the moment you just need 8:46 around about 6 in two pieces about 6 in 8:49 long you will trim it down I always 8:51 think with ribbon it's far better to 8:53 have that bit more than you need and 8:56 then be able to trim it away then um be 8:59 trying to fiddle around with when when 9:02 you haven't got enough what I've done 9:04 with that ribbon it was here a minute 9:06 ago I know it was so all you're going to 9:08 do is literally just pop poke that 9:11 through that slot 9:14 there so I usually find pop the blade 9:17 through to open open the slot up and 9:19 then you should just be able to pop as 9:21 you can see that through and pull it 9:24 through there so we do the same on 9:27 here po the blade 9:30 through 9:32 wiggle 9:37 and feed 9:42 the it will go 9:45 through if needs be just use the point 9:47 there point of your craft knife just to 9:49 poke that through as well and then once 9:52 you've pot it 9:55 through just lay your Ribbon down 10:00 down and if you got a little bit of 10:02 excess just trim that away using your 10:05 Ribbon scissors it's a really good idea 10:07 to keep a separate pair of scissors just 10:09 for cutting ribbon cutting card does 10:10 blunt them over time and so it's really 10:14 good to keep keep something um just for 10:16 doing that so once you've done the lid 10:19 all what I'm going to suggest is that 10:20 you then um ader the center panel that 10:24 you cut out of your 10:26 um out of the center of of the top just 10:30 with some 10:38 fuse and pop that in like 10:43 so that just neatens that off and then 10:46 on the front I've got a layer of 10:48 designer series paper and this is the 10:51 new uh 10:52 DSP and this falling in um falling in 10:55 love is absolutely beautiful it's uh got 10:58 really really pretty pink and Sahara 11:00 Sand colors in it um and it it really is 11:03 a lovely um got some lovely design so on 11:06 the one side you've kind of got the um 11:08 photo you know photograph um effect and 11:11 on the reverse you've then got a printed 11:13 pattern as 11:16 well and then to go on the front there 11:19 I've cut so this 11:21 square is uh of the DSP for the top is 11:26 um 2 and a/4 by 2 and a/4 and then this 11:29 is 1 and 3/4 x 1 and 3/4 which I've used 11:32 some um very vanilla 11:35 for and the reason I've gone for that is 11:37 because it's just that um it's those are 11:39 the colors that are in the background 11:41 and it just means it it works a little 11:43 bit better um in terms of the uh 11:46 contrast that you get so to stamp our 11:49 sentiment I've got this little square 11:51 here and I've got um this stamp set 11:53 which is called sweet sentiment and so 11:56 each of these matches with one of these 11:58 um sweets in the new spring catalog and 12:02 this one is lovely the best things in 12:03 light life are sweet and there is a 12:06 sentiment that goes with it that says 12:08 and so are 12:10 you and then what I've done is I've just 12:14 stamped and punched a papon PO porri 12:16 butterfly on the other one I Ed the 12:17 blossom Builder 12:19 punch but I've just put 12:22 in this butterfly instead just to pick 12:25 up the butterfly that we've got on 12:30 the designer series paper and I've left 12:32 a slightly wider border so you can 12:34 actually see the DSP on the lid there 12:38 and while that glue is just setting I'm 12:40 going to put the DSP on the panels here 12:44 while it's still flat so what you need 12:46 is a piece of um DSP for the side which 12:50 is 2 and 3/4 by 2 and 12:54 3/4 and as I've shown you before once 12:57 you've cut that if you lay it and hold 13:00 it with the points lined up in your 13:03 track without moving it as I've just 13:08 have cut in half diagonally line up the 13:12 point 13:13 again and do the same 13:18 again then you'll have four triangles 13:21 ready to go on whatever it is that 13:23 you're 13:25 decorating and then all you need to do 13:27 is just pop a bit of um tape on the back 13:30 of 13:32 those I've got my fuse to hand here 13:35 which I'm managing to stick 13:38 everywhere and this is much much easier 13:41 to do while the box is still um unmade 13:46 so it's not impossible so if you do 13:48 accidentally you forget and you put put 13:53 your put your um do make your box up and 13:57 then you think ah I meant to decorate it 13:58 it that it really doesn't matter and of 14:00 course you could just stamp on the side 14:02 if you didn't have any um designer 14:05 series paper or you hadn't got a pattern 14:07 that you really liked you could you know 14:09 you could always just stamp on these as 14:12 well you make your own card stop but 14:14 don't do what I nearly did there and put 14:16 glue on the wrong side so that then 14:20 covers up that slot with the ribbon as 14:23 you can see 14:26 okay so now we've got two pieces one of 14:28 which is 14:30 decorated and we can just now that glue 14:33 should be set by now so we're just going 14:34 to 14:38 pop our panel on the front 14:43 there and then to put the box together 14:47 on the on the lid here I'm going to use 14:49 some very fine um tape I say um it's one 14:53 of the few occasions when I will use a 14:55 red tape but to make the Box up you can 14:58 actually use the stamping up tear and 14:59 tape and that's really good for um this 15:02 sort of project because it means that 15:04 you're not battling with glue while 15:06 you're trying to put sides 15:09 together so having taken our tape off 15:12 all you need to do is 15:14 just line that 15:18 up in Center that we go and you can 15:22 see 15:25 y so on here if we get our tear and 15:31 tape and just pop a small piece on each 15:35 of the 15:44 sides don't stick it to your finger as I 15:47 have just 15:49 done because otherwise you'll end up 15:51 with no tape on your card 15:55 stock I was going to I was filming in 15:58 the daylight night earlier but then I I 16:01 I was half three qus of the way through 16:04 two well one project and the doorbell 16:05 went for a delivery I was waiting for 16:08 and then a bit later on I was 34s 16:10 through another one and guess what the 16:12 doorbell went for my for another for the 16:15 postman and then uh just as I was going 16:18 to film another project my battery died 16:21 on my camera because i' left it running 16:23 when I got interrupted so not the 16:26 greatest day uh but still 16:29 that's why the light is not perhaps as 16:30 good as it might be so take some tape 16:33 off just a couple of those sides and um 16:36 then what you're going to do is line 16:40 up on here now what I found is the best 16:44 way is to start 16:46 it on one side so it's fairly 16:49 Square then just work your way 16:53 around on each of these four 16:57 corners the the first one if you can get 16:59 that nice and square it will really 17:03 help it won't help at all if you glue it 17:05 in the wrong 17:14 place okay so here we go craftting on 17:18 the go never mind fortunately I haven't 17:20 stck it down that's a good as I said 17:22 good thing about Tean tape is it is a 17:24 little bit more 17:27 forgiving 17:29 so try again right let's replace that 17:32 piece of 17:35 tape right and what you're actually 17:38 doing is you're fitting it in like so 17:42 okay so when you line it up you're 17:44 lining the middle of 17:46 this with the middle here okay so you 17:49 have a piece like so that makes five 17:52 easier right then you come around and 17:54 fold this piece in then just continue 17:57 around 17:59 lining up each of those Corners once 18:02 you've got the first one just give it a 18:04 squeeze then the next one 18:07 squeeze and keep coming round and then 18:10 as you get further round you can then 18:12 take the tape 18:25 off so and because we're getting towards 18:28 the and not you're going to take those 18:29 last few pieces 18:35 off because you don't want to be 18:37 fiddling on that very last one where 18:38 it's all stuck 18:44 in okay so the last 18:47 three and you're going to tuck that 18:50 in like 18:53 so the last two I find pop 18:57 in 19:00 and then from the 19:03 inside squeeze 19:07 together so there you go one 19:11 box with a lid that you can pop in for 19:16 Ferrero rochet and you use your envelope 19:19 punchboard to make a diamond shaped box 19:22 but with a 19:23 top closure and to get your bow to sit 19:27 straight what I do is I tie it and then 19:30 just pull together before I tie a 19:34 bow to finish thanks for watching don't 19:38 forget to shop online in my store and 19:41 and it's celebration so you get a free 19:43 gift for every £45 from
